Our life cycle assessment applications are built on the requirements of a series of standards to provide the highest level of integrity and replication possible. Standards include;

TFC refer to a variety of the most current Australian relevant LCI databases in the compilation of their assemblies rates.

Peer Review

Our applications and the underlying methodology and outputs have been subjected to two independent peer reviews by a panel of experts; feedback from these reviews has been incorporated into the software.

Purpose of Life Cycle Assessment

LCA is a method used to determine the environmental impact of products, services or systems over a defined life cycle. It is used to identify risks and quantify opportunities available to improve performance (or reduce impact and risk) of the product system.

A key objective of Standards based LCA is to achieve consistency amongst studies and to support comparative analysis of results.

In its application to building design and products the use of Hybrid Life Cycle Assessment (HLCA) is practical in order to increase completeness and enable all impacts associated with the finished building to be accounted for from the site, all the way upstream to the point of extraction, including service, profit and design inputs. 

Quality Assurance

The Footprint Company subject its data, methods and calculations to independent assurance on an annual basis.
